🌟 DISCOVER THE RARE THREE RED POMELO – THE CROWN JEWEL OF CITRUS!
Looking to add something truly exotic and breathtaking to your home garden or patio? The Three Red Pomelo is one of the most sought-after and rare citrus varieties in the world. Known as "Three Red" because of its beautiful red-blushed skin, pinkish-red inner rind (sponge layer), and incredibly juicy, sweet crimson-red flesh. It is significantly sweeter and milder than traditional grapefruits, with zero bitterness!
🌱 QUICK START PLANTING & CARE GUIDE (Crucial First Steps)
To ensure your rare Pomelo tree thrives, please follow these steps immediately upon delivery:
1. Immediate Unboxing & Hydration (The Soak)
As soon as you open the package, submerge the roots in a bucket of room-temperature water for 2 to 3 hours. This rehydrates the root system and wakes the tree up from its shipping dormancy. Do not soak for more than 4 hours.
2. Soil & Potting
Soil Type: Use a well-draining, loose soil mix. A premium citrus/cactus potting soil mixed with perlite is highly recommended.
pH Level: Prefers slightly acidic to neutral soil (pH 6.0 – 7.0).
Avoid: Heavy clay or soils that retain too much water, as this causes root rot.
3. Initial Watering (The Goldilocks Method)
First Planting: Water thoroughly right after planting until water drains out of the bottom holes.
Initial Weeks: Keep the soil consistently moist but NEVER soggy. Stick your finger 1 inch into the soil; if it feels dry, water it. Overwatering a leafless bare-root tree is the #1 cause of failure.
4. Acclimating to Light (Avoid Sunburn)
Week 1-2: Place the newly potted tree in bright, indirect sunlight or partial shade. Do NOT put it directly into scorching hot sun immediately.
Gradual Shift: Over 7-10 days, slowly move it into fuller sun. Once acclimated, Pomelo trees require Full Sun (6 to 8 hours of direct sunlight daily) to produce sweet fruit.
5. Temperature & Climate
Ideal Zones: Thrives outdoors year-round in USDA Hardiness Zones 9–11 (Warm/Subtropical climates).
Cold Climates: If you live in a colder zone (Zones 4–8), plant the tree in a large container. Bring it indoors near a sunny window or under a grow light when temperatures drop below 40°F (4°C). Protect it from frost.
